and finally my crying girl

let me know what you think by emailing me or posting a comment i'd love some feedback :)

Moving swiftly on to our Q&A this week:

okay question one is from a lovely lady in Belgium:

Q:
Auntie Allie what faith are you, are you Jewish or christian or..? what nationality are you?

A:
Thankyou for you're question i appreciate my uploads can be a little confusing, i am not Jewish i am catholic. i uploaded some Jewish recipes I've learned through being friends with Jewish people and on request from some Israeli readers. I'm a British national, i was born in the UK and have lived here  for fifteen years so far.

our next question is from Padraig M

Q: Auntie Allie Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm in love with my best friends sister and i don't know what to do also my little brother (16) keeps blaming me for the death of his hamster bonno (he was 4 and old) and i never went near it, it sucks cos now he won't speak to me what do i do?

A:
first things first, chill your beans Paddy- is it okay if i call you that? well i have now so... anyway dependent upon the age of the sister and the reaction of your best friend there should be no reason why you should not be able to go out with this girl. That said if it goes pear shaped you could risk losing a wonderful friendship with her brother are you prepared to do that? there will always be pretty girls but best friends are hard to find and should be cherished. as for bonno
1. he was FOUR! thats amazing for a hamster, most die at the age of two!
2. whilst losing a pet is hard your brother is sixteen acting like he's six, tell him to man the hell up and stop acting like a child over bonno. at the age of sixteen he should be worrying about girls and cars and exams not throwing a strop over a stupid rodent!

Bye for now
love and hugs auntie allie xoxox

  Spicy Fish
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time:16 mins
Serves six

Ingredients
2 tbsp finely grated fresh root ginger
4 garlic cloves , finely grated or crushed
2 whole sea bream or red snapper (about 900g/2lb each) or 6 fish steaks like tuna
6 tbsp plain yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp turmeric
2 tsp mild chilli powder
3 tsp cumin seeds

Method

Slash the skin of the whole fish, if using, on each side with a sharp knife. Mix the ginger and garlic, season with salt, then rub all over the fish.
Mix the yogurt with the oil, spices and seasoning. Use to coat the fish inside and out, then chill until ready to cook.
TO BARBECUE: Cook straight on the rack (or on foil if you are afraid of it sticking) for 6-8 mins each side for the whole fish, or 3-4 mins for the tuna steaks. Cooking time will depend on how hot your barbecue is when you start.

Vegetable Rice Recipe

Prep time: 15 mins
Cook time: 30 mins
Serves four

Ingredients
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
8 large button mushrooms, cut into 1/4-inch slices (about 2 cups)
1 red bell pepper, cored, seeded and cut into 1/4-inch dice (about 1 1/4 cups)
1 small yellow onion, finely diced (about 1 cup)
2 cups long-grain rice
1 tablespoon kosher or fine sea salt
4 scallions, trimmed and thinly sliced (about 1/2 cup)

Method

Heat the oil in a Dutch oven or other heavy 3-quart pot over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms, red pepper and onion and cook stirring, until the vegetables are softened, about 4 minutes.

Add the rice and the salt and stir to coat the rice with oil. When the rice starts to look "chalky," pour enough water into the pan to cover the rice by 1-inch. Raise the heat to high, bring the water to a boil, and boil until the level of the water meets the level of the rice.

Reduce the heat to very low, give the rice a very thorough stir, and cover the pot. Cook until the rice is tender but with a little bite, about 20 minutes. Do not uncover the pot or stir the rice while it cooks. Fluff with a fork before serving. Stir in the scallions and transfer to a serving bowl.

Recipe for Chicken soup with knaidlach

Prep time: 30 mins & 1 hr to rest knaidlach
Cook time: 1 hr 40 mins
Serves six

Ingredients
1 chicken, medium to large
1 large onion, chopped
2 carrots, chopped
2 stalks of celery, chopped
2 clove garlic, crushed
2 sprigs of dill, plus extra for garnish
small bunch of stalks parsley
1 bay leaf
2 strips of lemon zest
1 tsp black peppercorns

For the knaidlach:
4 eggs
175 ml sunflower oil
salt, and freshly ground black pepper
150 ml cold water
200 g Matzo meal
150 ml boiling water
To cook the knaidlach:
500 ml of water
500 ml chicken stock

Method
1. Put the chicken into a large saucepan with all the other soup ingredients. Cover with water and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook for 1 hour.

2. Skim off any scum that has risen to the surface and then carefully strain the liquid through a sieve or colander lined with muslin. It is important to do this slowly so that only the clear liquid goes through. Any of the cloudy chicken stock can be reserved to cook the Knaidlach.

3. To make knaidlach, beat the eggs, oil, seasoning and water, then tip in enough matzah meal to make a thick mixture. Add the boiling water, mix well and leave to stand for at least an hour.

4. Put some oil on a plate and roll the mixture into balls about the size of large walnuts.

5. Bring the water and chicken stock to a rapid boil. Drop in the balls; lower the heat and simmer, half covered for about 30 minutes. Leave to cool, then remove from the stock. Re-heat separately and add to the soup when serving. Don't re-heat the balls in the chicken soup.

6. When the chicken has cooled slightly, remove the meat from the bones, discarding the skin. Chop the meat into chunks.

7. Put the chopped chicken into the soup and add the cooked dumplings, a couple of sprigs of dill and serve in nice big soup bowls.

  Recipe for Matzah Ball Soup

Also known as Jewish penicillin. Matzah balls are more traditionally known as knaydelach (Yiddish for dumplings). Matzah ball soup is generally a very thin chicken broth with two or three ping-pong-ball sized matzah balls (or sometimes one very large matzah ball) in it. Sometimes, a few large pieces of carrot or celery are added. Matzah balls can be very soft and light or firm and heavy. " Matzah ball soup is commonly served at the Passover seder, but is also eaten all year round.

Below is the recipe for matzah ball soup. The parsley in the matzah balls is not traditional, but It adds flavour .

Ingredients:
1/2 cup matzah meal
2 eggs
2 tbsp. oil or schmaltz (melted chicken fat)
2 tbsp. water or chicken broth
2 tbsp. fresh chopped parsley
a little black pepper
2 quarts thin chicken broth or consommé
A handful of baby carrots or regular carrots cut into large chunks (optional)
a few stalks of celery cut into large chunks (optional)

Method:

Beat the eggs, oil and water together thoroughly. Add the matzah meal, parsley and black pepper and mix until you achieve an even consistency. Let this sit for a few minutes, so the matzah meal absorbs the other ingredients, and stir again.
Bring the broth to a vigorous boil, then reduce the heat until the broth is just barely boiling. Add the vegetables to the broth (if used). Wet your hands and make balls of about 1-2 tbsp. of the batter. Drop the balls gently into the boiling water. They will be cooked enough to eat in about 15 minutes; however, you may want to leave it simmering longer to absorb more of the chicken broth flavor. They are done when they float on top of the broth and look bloated.
For lighter matzah balls, use a little less oil, a little more water, and cook at a lower temperature for a longer time. For heavier matzah balls, do the reverse. If you are using this to treat a cold, put extra black pepper into the broth (pepper clears the sinuses).

You Got your pride
So London recently hosted world pride and pride in the park is coming up - part of pride in plymouth, these events are so wonderful and they're also important to keep breaking down barriers and fight the prejudice some people still have, there is always such happy energy and positivity  from the LGBT community and events like pride are always buzzing with that energy which is great.

Moving away from my bissexualness and onto further pressing matters, this week i will welcome emails relating to my debate question, so i'm afraid no Q&A this week. In the papers in Britain this week one question has sparked debate nationwide and that is:

Should parents allow their teenagers to sleep with boyfriends/girlfriends in their home?

I say yes. Not because i say "yeah lets all support teen sex or even underage sex" because i believe that as a nation sexual health and sex in general is a topic we avoid and the UK is fast becoming a nation of prudes! England is a far cry from the relaxed and liberal attitudes of the Italians or the French and we lack the sexual confidence of the Americans.

1. teenagers will always find a way to break whatever rules or restrictions that are placed upon them, so they will still have sex, surely it's safer and better for them to have sex in a safe environment?

2. Why has their sex life got to bother their parents?

i'm curious to know what you think, what's you're view? wrong? or totally acceptable in this day and age? leave a comment or send me an email at alliebaba96@gmail.com.

Music this week
Normally i'm pretty into rock and indie music so i think bands like Yashin and avenged Sevenfold are pretty hot right now, but also if you haven't heard of
Ben Howard you should totally check him out, not only is he a super talented singer/ songwriter he's amazingly gorgeous too. My favourites are obviously the wolves and only love the live lounge version of only love is amazing- check it out:

i'll update you all next week and i will sort out the ask auntie allie section for next week, but until then if there is anything you need advice with or a question you want to ask feel free to leave a comment or email me

Volim te draga...

Hey, this is a quick blog considering my usual has just been uploaded. I thought that i'd upload the lyrics to one of my favourite songs to share with you because as i said in my last post songs often have meanings and this song has a very emotional significance for me.

Ja te volim najvise na svijetu- Mata Hari

Ja te volim najvise na svijetu
i necu zaboravit te, dok sam ziv
ako pogresis, nesto ruzno napravis
stacu pred Boga i reci, ja sam kriv

Prodje godina, odkad si otisla
nema ko da se smije
mojim glupim salama

I kad te spominju
ko da ranjavaju
negdje duboko u meni
ratnici marsiraju

I hoce da te spase
i hoce da te vrate
da te vrate u moj svijet

Al' ne bih zaplak'o
i ne bih poklek'o

i ne bi mi suza niz obraze
pa nek svi odlaze, daleko

Ja te volim najvise na svijetu
i necu zaboravit te, dok sam ziv
i kad te spominju, ko da ranjavaju
negdje duboko u meni
ratnici marsiraju

I hoce da te spase
i hoce da te vrate
da te vrate u moj svijet

I will try and translate this to english for everyone else who doesn't speak croatian, i'll do my best...

I Love You the Most In The World

I love you the most in the world
And won't forget you, whilst I'm alive
If you make a mistake, do something bad
I will stand before God and say, I am guilty

Years passed, ever since you left
There's no one to laugh
At my foolish jokes

And when they mention you
It's like they wound me
Somewhere deep in me
Warriors march

And they (the warriors) want to save you
And want to bring you back
To bring you back to my world
But I would not cry
And I would not surrender
And not a tear would fall off my cheek
And let everybody go, far away from me

I love you the most in the world
And won't forget you, whilst I'm alive
And when they mention you, it's like they wound me
Somewhere deep inside me
Warriors march

And they (the warriors) want to save you
And want to bring you back
To bring you back to my world
But I would not cry
And I would not surrender
And not a tear would fall off my cheek
And let everybody go, far away from me

Sexy accents, dirty texts and midnight phonecalls...

Hey guys,
so from my title this week my love life sounds like it's actually in existence again doesn't it? haha not entirely true... So it's been quite a week for news: our little friend (emphasis on 'little' friend) President Sarkozy seems to be losing out in the french elections and everyone seems to be having a bit of a laugh at him yet he managed to maintain a rather smug look at all times why is this? Personally i don't think he needs to worry about the jibes at his height or his ineptitude as the country's leader because I recognise what we all should Sarkozy is celebrating his own private victory the jammy bastard! have you seen his wife?! of course he's smug!
The BBC reported more on Vladimir Putin and protests in Russia-my take on putin? he's a self obsessed, insecure little man with a bad case megalomania and severe delusions of grandeur and a heightened sense of self importance.
Not that politicians closer to home are any better.

In the UK we have a choice of 3 main political parties
The Liberal Democrats : vote for these if you hate conflict, confrontation and you have no opinion either way on anything

Labour : vote for this party at your peril! they are likely to fuck up the economy and bankrupt the country, promise everything to everyone-without delivering and generally mess everyone about. The laws passed by this party are pathetic fox hunting law ring any bells? Vote for this party if you are a northerner with a chip on your shoulder. being a member of this party does have its perks however, mr Livingston decided he is at liberty to perform tax avoidance- apparently running for mayor of London grants immunity
 the final choice

Conservatives: vote for Mr Cameron if you have common sense or you  went to Eaton too, nah joking aside Dave is good for the UK as is Boris,

people take the mick out of Boris and Dave but would you really want Milliband representing us? Angela Merkel would eat him for breakfast! not before she'd laughed him out of a conference though... whilst watching Primeminister's  Questions this week Mr milliband reminded me of someone...

So my political babble aside, i looked at my demographic this week and i have a lot of Russian readers/viewers which i like that's lovely so Привет красивым читателей России! lovely to have you reading this, although i warn you my nonsense is probably killing off your brain cells by the minute!

Back to my title, sexy accents i would love to hear your favourite accents, its always weird when people talk about accents, my accent is generally quite British which some people find attractive (Weird). My ex boyfriend was an irish traveller and had a very strong accent often meaning i had no idea what he was saying, leaving me to guess and say yes and no in what i assumed where the right places. personally i think the french accent is very attractive and the bristol accent i loooove so leave me a comment or email me your thoughts.

Dirty texts hmm won't go into that one actually but at last my love life is recovering oh yeah, this girl's hot and the guy texting her knows it (so he bloody should he's not stevie wonder plus if he said i was anything but the result would be fatal)

midnight phonecalls - no i am not a spy. i love my sleep i love my bed and i fucking hate being disturbed grr...
best friend at 12:00 : hellooo i loooove youu sooooooo much did i ever tell you that?
Me : fuck off your drunk.
hangs up.
next day delights in torturing hungover best mate with every loud noise known to man - don't mess with my sleep bitch! you can wake me up only if:
a) there is any 999 type crisis
b) it's snowing!
c) someone really famous has died

Ask Auntie Allie:

onto my Q & A, again i love my readers you entertain me as always...
Question one is from a rather lovely fellow called Thomas

Q: Auntie Allie should i diet? my girlfriend says she loves me as i am but i don't want to loose her and my mates take the mick and call me chubster and i 'm lucky to have her anyway because im ginger, i find diets hard to stick to what do i do?

A: stay exactly as you are! never lose weight for anyone other than yourself, if you are happy with your weight then that's it, your girlfriend clearly isn't bothered by your size and beauty isn't skin deep. These so called friends aren't sounding very friendly are they? good friends don't make you  feel insecure, they should be building your confidence not damaging it! As far as ginger hair goes there are lots of attractive ginger people! Prince harry, ed sheeran, tim minchin, newton faulkner need i go on?! have a little confidence in yourself and go and eat a pasty..well maybe not the best suggestion after my previous political rant and the headlines this week- chocolate?
love and hugs
Auntie Allie xxx

Q: Auntie Allie do you have any music that makes you cry because after i lost someone i can't listen to run by snow patrol why does it make me cry?

A:  Hello Dreanine,
yes i do i can't listen to U2 with or without you because i cry. if we give music or a particular place or book an emotional meaning especially linked to someone who is no longer with us it makes us cry because it relates to the emotional link to that person. Its very normal don't worry sweetheart.

Cheats,forbidden love and bestiality...average week i'd say

Hey guys,
so this week has been quite peaceful for me I've been lucky to have the week off and considering i'm writing this from the UK (where it rains incessantly) the weather hasn't been that bad! As with all time off you conjure up metaphorical list of all of the wonderful things that you will suddenly be organized enough to do for example: walking the dog (who you have never walked before), various household jobs and of course revision! I'm not gonna lie valuable revision time has been more than a little wasted my German exam prep consisted of watching back to back Inbetweeners series 1 ,2 & 3.

ALLIE HELP! DOES HE LOVE ME?

My peaceful and lovely hello to you all aside that doesn't mean there hasn't been any drama!
My mates went away to Berlin on what was supposedly an educational visit to perhaps engage in the history and the rich tapestry of German culture did this happen?... Hell no! unfortunately I must  sympathize entirely with the staff travelling with them as persistent texting and a combination of made up words and the poor diction with which they choose to converse with each other must have been rather grating.  Yet I still admit to being friends with these loud, idiotic teenage boys. I must be mad. I'm only joking of course i love them all to bits even if  often, they appear- to the untrained eye to look like a bunch of muppets. The problem with being best friends with teenage boys is they have little or no common sense, they take all rumours as gospel and most of their "Brilliant ideas" begin with a nagging thought that goes something along the lines of - screw it, it'll be funny.
My holidays are generally pretty boring to be honest aside from mates going in to meltdown, getting into mischief  and just ordinary stuff. i'll be honest usually i'm quite obsessive with my appearance but last week i was quite happy to be hiding behind a computer screen i looked suitably awful- my nails needed to be done, my roots were coming through and i had gone pale! so my hair has been restored to its amazing redness, got my tan done yesterday so nice and brown/orangeish at the moment and nails all sorted so am no longer feeling like a minger!
Several People have suggested some questions for this weeks blog which is great, so i'll move on to them now. You may have noticed that the title is Allie HELP! Does he love me? and that my lovely people brings me to our first question from LadyinPink :

Q: Auntie Allie please help me my boyfriend and i have been together just over 2 years and I worry that he says he loves me when he doesn't, also i think he might be sleeping with another girl! what do i do?
LadyinPink x

A:

Hello LadyinPink,
thank you very much for your question, you are very brave to put a question like that out there (even if your identity is hidden by your pseudonym!). Okay first things first darling, the basic values of respect and trust seem to have gone out of the window here and without these as the foundation for your relationship you two are setting yourselves up for disaster. If you are finding yourself checking his messages every time he leaves the room or thinking that he's seeing someone every time he goes out without you that is not a healthy relationship, however if he is sleeping with another girl then you must terminate this relationship asap! no guy is worth that much of your time and emotion and cheating shows not only a blatant disregard for the other person but a longing for a different type of relationship. In a lot of cases where cheating ends a relationship it is often a blessing in disguise and allows the individuals to realise that they are not right for each other and meet people they really do like. Honey i honestly believe from reading your message that no he doesn't love you, if he is acting in a way that makes you feel worthless or suspicious or down a lot then he doesn't love you - if he did why would he act in this way? set yourself free and find someone that appreciates you  and makes you feel appreciated, but before you do anything you MUST communicate your feelings to him and have a conversation with each other this will be an opportunity for each of you to air your issues if you still decide to call it quits fine but you really should talk first,
fingers crossed for you
Auntie Allie x

Our second question is best placed for Jeremy Kyle but hey who says i'm not as good as him huh? joking i love Jeremy Kyle. So onto our second question, received via email oh the excitement :

Q: Hi Allie i like this girl but she's from a mahoosive family and a certain ethnic minority that prevents us from dating her brothers want to kill me and without being stereotypical i'll hint at the minority, think of thieves and drive tarmacers!!! i stand no chance everyone thinks i have a death wish trying to see her but i like her so what do i do?

A:
Quite simply admit defeat. Normally i would say make like romeo and Juliet and true love will out but if this girl is from a gypsy family it is probably not best for either of you to try and sustain any type of relationship under this pressure. I understand how insular gypsies can be and how protective they are of their women, that said they are a very respectful traditional and welcoming people that love a good time and laugh however you can understand their secretive nature when most people persecute them. Gypsies don't like mixed marriages and dating a gorja (you-non gypsy) will damage her reputation within her community, you may find it ridiculous but for her that's her reality and her life and she is clearly aware of the consequences hence she is avoiding you. As an extra heads up never as a gorja start a fight with a gypsy - you don't just fight the one you fight 20!
good luck, there's someone out there for you
Auntie Allie x

My final question was from someone who i can only describe as severely lost and  in need of human affection or from a genuinely curious person with i have to say really low intellect:
Q: Is bestiality still illegal? or have the coalition changed it?

A: IT IS ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL, it's a mystery really isn't it what with the European debt crisis, our own recession, the  trouble in the middle east and the war we're currently fighting that David Cameron hasn't thought of reviewing that law...
Auntie Allie x
P.S. Please promise me you'll never work in a zoo.

Ooh the tension eh?! In all seriousness if you've ever been cheated on you will know that your boyfriend/girlfriend is absolutely an evil bastard who stole however long of your life...that is until you calm down and let it go! If you have ever been cheated on or you have a problem and you need advice leave a comment below my email is alliebaba96@gmail.com so email me aswell

see you soon love and hugs

Is beauty a curse?

Hey Guys!
So i'm Allie, this is my first blog! Been meaning to set it up for ages but unfortunately I am one of those annoyingly scatterbrained people that have to be nagged to with in an inch of their lives to do some things! I'm often nicknamed fairy godmother or problem solver (this is because i like to help people to sort out their problems). In my blog I want to get some debates going and help advise people on pretty much anything really, so any questions you have or anything you want me to discuss in my next blog let me know what you're thinking!

Is Anyone Cursed by Beauty?

Samantha (pictured above) caused a lot of controversy after publishing her article but is she right, is she plagued by her good looks?
so for my first post i thought i'd talk about the story that's got everyone talking this week, the controversial article written by Samantha Brick in the Daily Mail. The newspaper received 1.5 million hits online and over 5,000 comments most of them scathing.
Samantha claims life as a beautiful woman is difficult and that she has lost friendships over jealousy relating to her good looks. In her column she recalls past experiences of kindness for example having the bill waved in a restaurant and on one occasion having a stranger purchase her train ticket for her simply because she is beautiful. 41 year old Samantha says she often gets bottles of wine sent to her table in restaurants by unknown male admirers and that her beauty has caused friction with friends who are envious of her good looks.
My take on it is this: Self esteem and self confidence are wonderful qualities! We have so many teenagers in the UK suffering from conditions like Anorexia Nervosa, Body Dismorphia or resorting to methods of self harm out of a sense of poor self worth, it is all too rare that we see someone like Samantha Brick displaying a healthy level of confidence in herself.
That said I agree there is a fine line between confidence and arrogance and if you have to think "Hmm will my ego and me fit in that room at the same time?" there is an issue, however i think Samantha was genuinely writing about her own experiences, and in context she is 41 years old, she lives in a small village in the south of France where the average age is 78 she is likely to be perceived as very pretty - her experiences were condensed into a small piece during which she recalled a few incidences and i am likely to agree with her that those who sent nasty emails or tweets have simply showed everyone (with an ounce of common sense) that maybe they are in fact jealous, or just very unpleasant if they feel strongly enough to send a mean email attacking someone they don't even know for writing an article from her own experience well to anyone who wrote those articles: IT'S CALLED A FREE PRESS DARLING! and DON'T BULLY OTHERS, which essentially what this hate campaign is a load of people who haven't even read the article and understood her message have decided to victimize her for no apparent reason.
I think everyone should have confidence in themselves not just their appearance but in their abilities and qualities as a human being and it's a sad day when real issues like bullying which leads to self esteem issues in extreme cases resulting in conditions like Anorexia are overlooked so that we can criticize someone like Samantha for having self confidence the very quality we supposedly encourage in order to bully her a behaviour we supposedly frown upon. Lets fix our nation of teens with low self esteem before we disrespect someone with confidence eh?
Leave a comment and let me know what you think, have you ever struggled with being beautiful? Is Samantha telling your story?

To let me know what you think about Samantha or to ask for my help or advice, maybe suggest some topics for the blog you can leave a comment below or email me at alliebaba96@gmail.com
